What records should be provided?
Relevant pre-injury and post-injury dental records, imaging, treatment notes, referral questions, and administrative instructions may help define the evaluation.
Is a PI dental evaluation the same as treatment?
No. An independent evaluation is primarily diagnostic and documentary. Any urgent or ongoing treatment needs are handled separately unless explicitly arranged.
Does the dentist determine legal causation?
The dentist documents clinical findings and may address dental questions within professional scope. Legal responsibility and final case determinations belong to the appropriate legal process.
Who may request an IME of impacted teeth?
Requests may come from an attorney, insurer, case manager, agency, or individual. The office confirms scope, records, fees, and scheduling before accepting the evaluation.
